Catechesis at St. Pius X School is a great responsibility and a
mission for each educator involved with students.
In addition to
formal religious instruction, St. Pius X School students and their families
work together on many religion projects through their years such as:

Students
participate in Service Learning Projects throughout the school
year. Every class at St. Pius X School plans an activity to interact with
the community or those in need. Through the Helping Hands Service Learning
Program seventh grade students participate in multiple service projects that
include donut sales to benefit Covenant House; Thanksgiving Food/Can drive
for St. Vincent de Paul; food sorting at Second Harvesters; support for New
Orleans firemen and/or policemen; Christmas and Easter parties for the
children in the nursery at Covenant House; cooking and serving meals at the
Lakeview Shepherd Center and additional projects during the school year.
