Covenant House
December 5, 2009
On Saturday, December 5, 2009 St. Pius X School Helping Hands, 7th
grade students, met with their advisors, Mrs. Cassini and Mrs. Karcher, at
Clearview Shopping Center to shop for 17 children at the Covenant House
nursery. The 7th grade students each selected a child’s name and
then students partnered up to purchase a toy and outfit for the child they
selected. Later, they wrapped the presents.
On Friday, December
11, the St. Pius X School Helping Hands hosted a Christmas party for the
children in the Covenant House nursery. Along with
the gifts,
Helping Hands brought
snacks and helped the children make a Christmas craft. The St. Pius students
bundled the excited
students up and took them
outside in the playground at Covenant House to play, laugh and visit. Later
they served snacks. When it came time to say goodbye there were some teary
eyes, and not just from the Covenant House children! The 7th grade
students had a wonderful time and they can’t wait to
go back for the Easter party!
